What is the Murph?
The Murph was named after Navy Lt. Michael Murphy who was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. He was known for doing an extreme workout: one-mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, then another one-mile run.
This workout is not easy! Every year at Beast Body Fitness we perform this workout on Memorial Day in remembrance of our fallen soldiers. We are so thankful for all those who died serving our country and for those who served and continue to serve!
At Beast Body we are quick to cover our gray, black, and green for our red, white, and blue! It is because of those who fight for our freedoms that we get to workout and have the opportunity to focus on our health.
During the Murph you find your inner voice. That one that says keep going, don't quit, one more set, almost done. It's the time you truly get to tap into pushing and being your best self.
The last mile is the mile you question everything your doing, why your doing it, and who your doing it for. The last mile is proof to yourself that you are stronger than you think if you just dig a little deeper. Its the time your body wants to tap out but your mind says other wise.
We cant thank our Beast Fam enough for coming out on Memorial Day and performing this workout. Whether modified or advance we all showed up with one mission in mind. >To complete the Murph.
Congrats to everyone who showed up and represented for our soldiers... we love you!
