5 Tips to Maintain Consistency and Avoid Yo-Yoing During the Last 2 Weeks of the Holiday Season
The holiday season is a time for celebration, indulgence, and relaxation. However, it can also be a challenging period for those who are trying to maintain consistency in their fitness goals. With tempting treats and busy schedules, it's easy to fall into the trap of yo-yoing, where progress is lost and regained repeatedly. To help you stay on track during the last two weeks of the holiday season, here are five essential tips to maintain consistency and avoid yo-yoing.
Set Realistic Goals
Dont over commit if its not lined up with your priorities. Know that its okay to say "no." Be realistic too, with more on your schedule dont set some crazy goal of losing 30lbs in 2 weeks. Smaller goals like working out atleast 3x a week will be more beneficial for feeling successful.
Plan Ahead
Schedule your time in for the things you know are a must for you. If your going to workout 3 x this week, make it an apointment. You have to meal plan, again make it an appointment. With knowing your calendar and events coming up you stick to your plan and you will find yourself succeeding more than not.
Practice Moderation
Dont over endulge. During the Holiday season we tend to drink less water, eat more sugar, and move alot less. Eat your meals accordingly and eat before you go to functions, this way you can continue to practice moderation.
Stay Active
The Holiday season is known for comfort. Do the opposite and move. People tend to become less active during this time and eventually findthemselves having less energy to stay consistent. So before you get back home from work, shopping, or wherever make it a point to either workout or do something extra before snuggling under the covers to watch your favorite netflix show.
Seek Support
If your having a hard time staying motivated reach out to someone you know has your back or find a gym friend or trainer to help you. Reality is, this may help short term to get you out of your slump, but ultimately your in control and you need to show up and become your biggest cheerleader. Dont hesitate to let someone know you need support, just make sure you dont give them all the excuses when they are trying to support you. But seeking help during the Holidays can help so much in preventing you from Yo-Yoing.
Again, the last two weeks of the holiday season can be a testing time for those striving to maintain consistency in their fitness goals. However, with the right mindset, planning, and support, it's possible to avoid yo-yoing and stay on track. Set realistic goals, plan ahead, practice moderation, stay active, and seek support throughout this period. By following these tips, you can enjoy the festivities while still making progress towards your health and fitness goals. Remember, consistency is key, even during the holiday season.Todays note of encouragment:
